managing director, chevron China business unit
Shu Xiong was appointed managing director of Chevron China business unit on August 1, 2024. In this role, Shu leads Chevron’s value-chain business strategies in China, based on Chevron’s proud legacy position that began more than a century ago, to provide affordable, reliable, and ever-cleaner energy that enables human progress.
Prior to taking the current role, Shu was the general manager of Market and Price Forecasting for Chevron Strategy and Sustainability. Shu and her team advised senior executives on market point of views and developed corporate price guidance for investment decisions and business planning. Previously, Shu was the general manager of Origination and Commercial for Chevron Supply & Trading, where she was responsible for growing cross-commodity origination and commercial positions for Chevron’s global portfolio.
Shu joined Chevron in 2007 as a decision analyst and has served in several leadership positions with increasing responsibility including Strategy Planning Manager, Permian Asset Manager, and Subsurface Manager. Prior to joining Chevron, Shu started her career in natural gas trading and ventured into electrical vehicle battery commercialization start-up opportunities.
Shu holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Houston.
