marketing and retail

Chevron has sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution operations throughout the country, including offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Hong Kong. We established Chevron (Tianjin) Lubricants Co., Ltd. (Tianjin Plant) in April 1999. Over the past 20 years, the plant has undergone two expansions to keep up with the growing demand, with 200,000 tons per year of lube-blending capacity. Our joint venture, Shanghai Gaoqiao Caltex Lubricating Oil Co. Ltd., has been successfully operating for more than 30 years.

We introduced global leading technologies and products to meet local market demand. Chevron markets Havoline® and Delo® engine oils and coolants under both the Chevron and Caltex brands, which have been widely used by consumers, commercial and industrial customers as well as original equipment manufacturers.

Today, Havoline is on the shelves of thousands of workshops, Techron is well recognized by Chinese consumers, especially on e-commerce platforms and Delo is deeply rooted in the diesel engine oil industry as well. There are more than 60 Caltex® service stations in China, including in Hong Kong and Macau special administrative regions. Chevron Global Aviation is one of the jet fuel suppliers at Hong Kong International Airport. We also sell jet fuel to airlines that use Macau International Airport.

Chevron has grown with the China market, while accumulating advanced technical expertise and abundant practical experience. Before China updated the China IV off-highway emission standards, we introduced our patented low-SAPS technology, OMNIMAX, which is formulated with only 0.4% sulfated ash.

Cooperation with our Chinese partners has also steadily advanced over the years. In 2016, Chevron started supplying to FAW Jiefang, one of the prominent heavy duty truck manufacturers in China. In December 2020, Chevron unveiled its unique China VI lubricant product with the OMNIMAX technology, specifically designed for FAW’s new generation natural gas engines, and showcased the technology at a FAW exhibition in Hainan. In March 2023, we signed a trademark license agreement with NewLink, a leading digital energy service company in China, to promote the development of Caltex-NewLinks branded service stations. Following the signing, the first Caltex-NewLinks service station was opened in Shandong, China.

We continue to enhance our presence. In December 2022, Chevron became the official sponsor of the Chinese Super League (CSL) for 2023 to 2025.
